Beermatz is a pub tracking application that helps you discover and log visits to pubs in London. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
When you create an account, we collect:
If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive:
We do not receive or store your social media passwords.
When you log a pub visit, we store:
We may use your location (with your permission) to show nearby pubs. We do not store your location history.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
When you delete your account it is closed immediately and your data is erased 7 days later. Your pub visits and their ratings are kept in anonymous form so that pub information stays accurate, but they are no longer linked to you or to any account.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Like any website, our servers keep technical logs of the requests they handle. These record the IP address the request came from, the page requested and the time, and they note the address an email was sent to when we send you one. We use them only to keep the service running securely and to diagnose faults. These logs stay on our own servers and are discarded automatically as they age out, normally within a few days.
When something goes wrong we also send an error report to Bugsnag, an error monitoring service that stores data in the United States. These reports contain technical details of the failure, the page involved and the IP address the request came from, which Bugsnag uses to group repeated errors. We filter passwords, session cookies and email addresses out of them. Because logs and error reports are kept on a short automatic cycle of their own, a brief technical trace of your activity can remain in them for a short period after you delete your account.
You have the right to:
7 days after you confirm, we permanently erase:
Your pub visits and their ratings are kept so that pub information stays accurate. They are made anonymous at the same time: they are detached from your account, stripped of anything you wrote or photographed, and cannot be traced back to you. If you would prefer to delete your account by email instead, contact privacy@beermatz.com from the address linked to your account.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and regular security updates.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on our site.
